Nice mood and perspective!....I would include the whole window at the right.....and it is a little overexposed what makes the higlights to lack details, mainly on the bricks.

i love the composition and the overexposure adds a lot to the dramatic look! A good example that shows rules are meant to be broken. Good job!

Overall a good composition and interesting subject. I too think it's a bit overexposed. I might have used a polorizer to cut some of the reflective qualities and maybe given even more contrast without some of the reflective highlights. Just an idea.....

Strong pull from lower window to upper one, which was dramaticized by the perspective up this old factorys' wall. Wonder as to how this may look if it were a sepia-toned photo.

magnificent perspective once again, you really know how to master the camera =)

i guess the picture suffers that bit overexposure because of the ambient light of daytime, not much cure for that i think =|

Thanks all for your comments – they’re much appreciated. It’s really useful to get a feel for peoples gut reactions, and see where they agree/differ from your own view.

In fact the lighting for this was not particularly contrasty at all – the original ‘out-of-the–camera’ pic has plenty of detail in the bricks and no blown highlights. They are down to my post-editing. I always visualised this as a high-contrast B/w – I wanted that grimy, hard-edged, rundown feel we used to get by pushing 400ASA film for that distinctive coarse grain - ‘digital noise’ just isn’t the same though, so I wanted to try to exaggerate the natural harshness of the grime ingrained bricks by giving it a coarse contrast curve.

GFXartist sponsor Repercutir: Thanks mom. :)
GFXartist sponsor loneorbit: A cold sepia tone could be very effective – add a little to the 'vintage' feel – I’ll try it out.
leloops I still rather feel I’m hanging on for dear life and just grateful to get a useable image from time to time

Nice capture:)
I really like the mood created by the window and the black and white.
A little overexposed...like Carlos said.
Keep it up Phil!

Nice photo here with a high key and the overexposed suits the image. but less details. i would like to see more of the window from the right side... i really like the broken glass.

I love how the windows are off-center. Little things add up. Good work.
