Description

A design/logo for a tshirt that was never printed, commemorating a tour that never took place, by a band that doesn't exist.
One of those things you do just to see how it will come out.

In the end it unexpectedly found a place in the great Gfx Wall Poster...
if you missed it keep an eye out in the forums for the next one - it was great fun!

Thanks everyone for your comments..

Klyph: ok here it is..Ta Daa ... actually I think I got the best deal on the wall project, nipping in off the subs bench right at the end - no stress and bathed in all the reflected glory of everyone else's work!... and it was such good fun.

SeeThrou: There wasn't a client, it was just something to do for the hell of doing it.

KittyKat: I don't believe there's such a word as Woot!

that'S a wonderful design. I really like the skull. I think you should make the left wing behind the guitar. good concept : air guitar, a flying guitar!
maybe a background, something simple. a sky maybe? +8

CrazyBoy... Yes, bringing the left wing behind the neck of the guitar would have increased the feeling that the wings were playing the guitar - which was part of the original concept... but the props wouldn't behave themselves, (damn you painters you can make things do anything:)), in the end i felt this arrangement looked the most comfortable.

Curly... yes it was really intended as a stand-alone design - though it did get a bg in the poster

Kitty... Ok I'll wait till the house is empty and give it a go - but if the neighbours have me institutionalised I'm sending you the bill.

Everybody... thanks for your generous comments - I'm really quite taken aback. :)

Cool design! Id wear one of these deffo! Would be even cooler if teh wings were more spread...going around to the back of teh tshirt....then again that may be more work to print.

Tres cool!

"We don't get fooled again!" Tan-dziiann... (jump with DocMarten's at your feet). Nicely done, Pete ... oops PHILL Townsend ;) To my opinion, these wings are all right like that, while if they were spread out they'd look more like a cliché (angels' or fairies' wings that are seen a lot on gfx)

I like the feeling of the whole picture and the concept but somethings to note (i guess):
wings on the guitar should have the same digital feeling as the guitar. i felt the wings stood out more. it sort of gave the feeling of dark rock metal music while the guitar is of wild and goth rock. probably you should give alittle lighted area more on the guitar? maybe you would want to try this on corel art instead because photoshop is quite limited unless you download the creative suite to edit it too.
definately +10

Concept:

Strong

Technical Skill:

Strong

Impact/impression:

Strong
Pros:
Good manipulation, it reminds me of something I would have seen on an 80's rock album when I was a kid. It has a good design also and I like the skull and the way the wings rap around the guitar.
Cons:
This would have looked even better with some kind of backround, perhaps a black marble would have gone very well with some reflections. Some typography would look great too.
Overall opinion/feedback:
A very nice design, a backround and fram would set this off very nicely. Nice work!
